It works by inhibiting the oxidation of AOD and the coupling of iodothyronine residues, which work to inhibit the secretion of thyroid hormones. Dosage and method of use: Initial dose for adults: 20-60 mg twice daily. Children's starting dose: 15 mg once daily.
