Carbimazole is used in the treatment of thyroid problems. It is a medical preparation that helps reduce thyroid secretions, by increasing the thyroid gland’s production of hormones that cause an imbalance in the body’s functions. It works by inhibiting the oxidation of AOD and the coupling of iodothyronine residues, which work to inhibit the secretion of thyroid hormones. Dosage and method of use: Initial dose for adults: 20-60 mg twice daily. Children's starting dose: 15 mg once daily.
